Clinical MDS Account Manager

Job Summary

 We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Clinical MDS Account Manager to oversee client relationships and ensure the accurate and timely completion of Minimum Data Set (MDS) submissions. The ideal candidate will combine strong clinical knowledge with exceptional communication and account management skills to support post-acute care facilities in maintaining compliance, optimizing reimbursement, and improving patient outcomes. 

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clinical accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
  • Review and manage MDS submissions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with facility staff, clinicians, and administrative teams to support care planning and assessment accuracy.
  • Analyze MDS data and provide insights to improve documentation quality and reimbursement processes.
  • Educate clients on MDS regulations, updates, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth and operational improvement.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve client concerns efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate client records, reports, and communication logs.
  • Monitor performance metrics and prepare regular account status updates.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS and state regulations regarding MDS and patient care documentation.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with MDS in a clinical or post-acute care setting.
  • Knowledge of RAI process, PDPM, and CMS regulations.
  • Experience in client or account management roles preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple client accounts and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in MDS software, EHR systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Required Equipment

  • Computer or Laptop – Minimum 8GB RAM and reliable processor (i5 or above).
  • Stable Internet Connection – Minimum 20 Mbps with backup connection (e.g., mobile hotspot).
  • Noise-Cancelling Headset – For clear client and team communication.
  • External Webcam – For virtual meetings and training sessions.
  • Backup Power Source – Such as a UPS or power bank to prevent work interruptions.
